Sicily's Wine Renaissance

Sicily's climate, sun, and rocky soil are very similar to those in the wine growing region of Napa Valley. Thanks to a new generation of vintners, the island is a connoisseur's choice for moderately priced (up to $60) wines that are very drinkable. More modern techniques in viticulture and wine making, coupled with the unique blending of local Sicilian grape varieties and international ones, has spawned a new industry. Chef Kate is exploring the lovely traditional foods and Robin is pairing wines from this exciting wine renaissance.
